Youth Programs
Roots and ShootsPlants and nature are explored through books, arts, and gardening while introducing the five senses as how we observe our world. Children learn about plant parts, the seed cycle, plant care, garden critters and harvesting at an age appropriate level. Wednesdays include an intergenerational activity with residents from an assisted living facility.
Ages: 4 - 5 years old Note: Class will not be held the week of 11/23 for Thanksgiving break Ages: 2 - 8 years old READ AND SEEDFun for pre-school children at The Gardens Each week we read books and participate in a simple activity based on a nature theme. This ongoing drop-in program is designed for children ages one to five along with their parent. No pre-registration is required. $1.00 suggested donation goes to "seeding" future gardens. A suggested donation of $1.00 per child is requested. Donations go towards funding new gardens. No registration is required - just drop in. Note: A parent or guardian is required to stay with your child. Tuesdays: 10:00am - 10:30am Ages: 1 - 5 years old Read and Seed will follow the Poudre School District calendar and will not meet on Tuesdays that school is not in session. Ages: 2 - 4 years old REGISTRATIONPre-registration is required for Roots & Shoots, Growing Together, as well as Garden Journeys. ClassesWe offer a wide variety of classes for adults who want to expand their gardening knowledge, learn how to craft with natural materials or how to express themselves through art. If withdrawing from a class, please contact Laura at 416-2280 at least three business days (Monday - Friday) prior to the class in order to receive a full refund. Classes may be cancelled by The Gardens if minimum enrollment is not met at least five business days before a class begins. In this case, a full refund will be issued. Within 30 days of the scheduled class date, the class fee must either be transferred to another class or refunded. After 30 days, the refund is a lovely donation to The Gardens. You may print the Adult Class Registration Form and mail it in, register in person at The Gardens, or call in your reigstration to 416-2486. Adult Education Class Registration. ToursIndividuals and small groups are welcome to visit The Gardens at any time during our business hours. A volunteer or staff person will be happy to give you a brief introduction to our facility. Large groups wishing a more extensive tour are invited to call 416-2280 for more information and to schedule a tour date and time. Reservations must be made at least 10 days in advance. The Gardens on Spring Creek is located at 2145 Centre Avenue which is ½ mile south of the Hilton on west Prospect. Come visit our gardens, greenhouse and multi-use facility and learn about our future plans. |
