The first construction phase included the innovative integration of a neighborhood park, named Lilac Park. The components include a grass field of about 16,000 square feet for informal recreational play, several benches and a bike rack. A small playground with a horticultural theme will be added this summer. The park is accessible via the bike trail or by parking in the parking lot of The Gardens. Although the park is primarily intended for the use of the residential neighborhoods to the west, it will be open to, and a resource for, the entire community.
