Summer Birthday Parties at The Gardens

Celebrate your child's birthday under our green roof shelter located in the Children's Garden. Two large octagonal picnic tables plus two standard garden benches allows for seating, as well as space for food and beverages. Trains, Boats, and Planes

Saturday, June 14, 10 am to 4 pm
Featuring the Northern Colorado Garden Railroaders, Love-Air R/C and Rocky Mountain Modeleers with their model aircraft, plus boat making activities. Demonstrations and fun for all ages! $4 per person, 12 and under free.

Bike and Jazz

Friday, June 27, 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Gear up the family and bike on over for live music in the Children's Garden. Bring a picnic dinner, lawn chairs or blanket and celebrate Bike Week! $5 per person, 12 and under free.

Free Mulch!

Pick up your free mulch for home use--great for general landscaping purposes including mulch for shrubs and trees. Not recommended for vegetable gardens. Bring your own container and pitch fork or shovel. Located in the northeast corner of the parking lot at the Gardens on Spring Creek and at the Rivendell Recycling Center.

The Garden of Eatin'

The Garden of Eatin' is The Gardens' current fund-raising focus. The design for this 3/4 acre site includes an outdoor kitchen, international and continental U.S. gardens, an orchard and small fruits area. Ground breaking is anticipated for later this summer. Produce will go towards the Food Bank for Larimer County and the numerous volunteers who participate in this garden and its programs.

Light and Lively Brown Bag Lunch Series
Noon to 1:00 PM In the classroom, free, reservations not required

  • International Gardening, Wed. June 4. With a focus on greens and herbs from around the world, presented by Dr. Marisa Bunning, assistant professor and Extension food safety specialist in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department at CSU.
  • In Search of the Perfect Diet, Wed. June 18. Presented by Kathy Westover of To Your Health.
  • Summertime Safety in Your Own Backyard and Beyond, Wed. July 2.
  • Heirloom Tomatoes, Wed. Aug 6. Presented by Connie Meyer, Gardens' staff.
