Constructing a Better Community

Solar Village is a mixed use "built green" village of 24 one story flats and studio residences residing over retail, office and work–live spaces. Designed by JCL Architecture, the building is approximately 32,000 square feet with a densely landscaped interior courtyard located on the NE corner of Meldrum and Maple in Downtown Fort Collins.

Solar Village Maple will set new Eco–Luxury standards for living in Fort Collins. Solar Village Maple will get all its’ power from solar PV awnings and wind power provided by the Fort Collins Utilities. The central heating system is powered by solar hot water panels which are tied to radiant floors throughout the buildings. Use of clean renewable energy powered and extremely energy efficient units will allow residents and tenants to lower their carbon footprint every day.

Each unit will have high ceilings and large open spaces that will allow natural light to filter throughout highlighting the eco friendly finishes. 100% wool carpet, natural slate and bamboo are just a few of the flooring options that can be seen throughout the units. Cabinets will be made with formaldehyde free materials and quality construction which will be complimented by granite countertops that will last for generations. Low–voc paints and adhesives will be used reducing that toxic "new home smell". In addition energy efficient appliances and fluorescent lighting that will save residents money every day.

Part of Solar Village Maple’s lifestyle is to promote active living. The village is near several city parks, two blocks to the Poudre River and the Poudre trail. Additionally shopping and dining are only a mere three blocks away and eight blocks to Colorado State University.
