Youth Programs

Fun-filled education for the budding gardener and nature enthusiast

Read and Seed
Story time plus an educational and fun hands-on activity for 2 - 4 year olds. This program will help your child develop school readiness skills such as early language, comprehension, and fine motor skills while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and exploration of the natural world. This is a parent participation class.

  • Monday: 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. and 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.
  • Tuesday: 10:00 to 10:45 a.m and 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.
  • $3 per child
  • Drop-in (registration not required).
  • Each class limited to 20 students.

April:

  • Week of 4/30: Rattlesnakes

May:

  • Week of 5/7: Pressed Flower Cards
  • Week of 5/14: Garden Markers
  • Week of 5/21: Marigold Planting
  • Week of 5/28: Sit Upon

Ready! Set! Grow!
A great opportunity to help your 4 – 5 year old child prepare for pre-school or kindergarten while learning about gardening and nature through hands-on projects, crafts, and books. Your child will gain an understanding of the classroom community and practice social skills in a friendly group environment without their parent or caregiver present

  • Fridays, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
  • $40 for a 4-week session.
  • Registration required.
  • Parents need not attend.

Ready! Set! Grow! will feature All Natural Fun in May.

Family Fun Nights
Join us on the second Friday of each month for an evening of fun for families. All ages are welcome.
6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
$5 per family. No registration required.

May 11th: Decorate Mother's Day cards with natural objects, plus, explore the gardens using touch, smell, and hearing Led by Sarah Flick, Education Coordinator, U.S. Forest Service.
Program will be held outside so please dress for the weather.
