Local cellist and composer Katherine Azari will perform two original compositions as well as other selected works for solo cello.
Voices of the Garden, an original work, is a suite of five movements with music and prose. Each movement highlights the inner thoughts of a particular flower or blooming plant.
The second original work, From the Journals of Meriwether Lewis, is a musical interpretation based on entries from Lewis' journals as explored the Louisiana Purchase from 1804-1806 with the Corps of Discovery.
Ms. Azari will also perform Gallery by Robert Muczyski. This suite includes nine short movements that are musical interpretations of paintings by the American artist Charles Birchfield.
