The Fort Collins Museum & Discovery Science Center is pleased to announce its Groundbreaking Ceremony, to be held Saturday, September 11 from 2 - 5 pm at the new location on the corner of Cherry and Mason Streets.
Please join in the ceremonies marking the groundbreaking for the new Fort Collins Museum & Discovery Science Center facility on Saturday, September 11 from 2 - 5 pm. All activities will take place at the new location site on the corner of Mason and Cherry Streets. Family activities for all ages are scheduled from 2 - 3:30 pm and include brick making, architectural food structures, solar cookies and homemade root beer. At 3:30, kids are invited to join in the Official Children’s Groundbreaking, to be followed by a dignitaries’ Groundbreaking. From 4:30 to 5:00 the public and press will be invited to ask questions of the new facility directors and staff.
All community members are invited to join in celebrating this magnificent community treasure… from the ground up, honoring the past and building a future.

The City is currently working to establish a green building construction code for Fort Collins. Utilities has convened two technical review advisory committees, one residential and one commercial, to advise staff as the code proposals are developed.
Building industry volunteers with diverse expertise and perspectives make up the committees. Public comment will be taken at the start of each meeting.
The Residential Technicial Review Advisory Committee will meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month thru October.
