In February 2004 the Fort Collins City Council appointed a group of community representatives to develop a set of recommendations intended to address the economic vitality and sustainability of Fort Collins. Members of the "Economic Vitality and Sustainability Action Group" (EVSAG) were carefully selected to represent a broad and diverse range of community interests and perspectives. The group met continually for four months and created a report and recommendations.
In November 2004, City Council established "EVSAG II" with the following charge:
- Serve as a forum for the continued discussion of economic vitality and sustainability issues;
- Provide information and advice to City Council, the City Manager, and Economic Advisor on a regular basis;
- Provide guidance in the creation and implementation of a formal action plan;
- Facilitate partnerships that lend organizational support for the implementation of economic vitality and sustainability partnership strategies; and
- Report to City Council, on an annual basis, progress achieved towards improving the economic vitality and sustainability of the Fort Collins community.
EVSAG II will continue for two years, through December 2006. New members to EVSAG will serve a two-year term. Former EVSAG I members will rotate at the one-year mark (December 2005), allowing for a continued presence of charter members who developed the EVSAG Report and Recommendations.
