Fort Collins Utilities’ Colorado Governor’s Energy Office Solar Rebate Program
Set the Trend: Solar Rebates Reward Greater Energy Savings
Receive a rebate to purchase and install a new solar energy-photovoltaic (PV) system on your home. Get an even LARGER rebate if your energy-use puts you among the Utilities’ lowest energy users.
The quota for this program has been met. Please stay tuned for details on future programs.
Fort Collins Utilities and Colorado Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) are offering rebates up to $9,000 (with even larger rebates for trendsetters with low energy-using households) for qualifying solar installations. Total available funds: $50,000.
Through net metering you may receive full credit for the electricity generated by your PV system.
Two Levels of Rebates Available
- Standard Rebate: $3 per Watt up to 3 kW. This is a combination of $2 per Watt base incentive and $1 per Watt 20-year solar REC purchase.
- High-Performance Rebate: $4 per Watt up to 3 kW. This is a combination of $3 per Watt base incentive and $1 per Watt 20-year solar REC purchase.
To qualify for the high-performance incentive, you must provide Utilities records that show your household is among the lowest percentage of monthly electric users for the previous 12 months. For 2009, this level is set at an annual average of 450 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per month.
