Results from the July Open Houses
Thanks to everyone who came to our three open houses! We had an excellent turnout with many great questions and comments.
We've added information from the various boards in case you were unable to attend the meetings. Many of the materials are works-in-progress, so don't be surprised if some information is revised to integrate comments from the open houses or elsewhere. As always, you are welcome to email, call or otherwise contact us to ask questions or give comments.
What's Up Next
The Project Team will be preparing information for the City Council worksession on August 26. You are welcome to view the worksession on cable channel 14, although no public comments are received during the meeting. Based on the open house comments and City Council feedback, we will begin working on recommendations and the draft South College Corridor Plan document. The final public meeting is anticipated to be in late Fall, 2008.

The South College Corridor Plan kicked-off on November 29, 2007 with a public open house at the Southgate Church. This plan covers 608 acres centered along College Avenue between Harmony and Carpenter Roads. This entire area is within city limits, download the map above.
This plan will be similar to other corridor plans adopted by the City, such as the North College Corridor Plan and East Mulberry Corridor Plan (these plans can be downloaded from our Document Download webpage). Particular attention will be paid to the unique characteristics and issues of South College, with a focus on land use, transportation, urban design, building and zoning, infrastructure, and open space. An extensive 18-month public involvement process will be conducted, with activities ranging from public meetings, one-on-one meetings with property owners, businesses and residents, web updates, and newsletters.
Here is a short list of public events & activities completed to date:
