A candidate for municipal office must be:
-
a citizen of the United States;
-
at least 21 years of age;
-
a registered elector within the city limits for at least one year
immediately preceding the election; and
-
in the case of a District Council office, be a resident in the District
since the date of accepting nomination for election.
No person who has been convicted of a felony is eligible to be a candidate for,
or hold, elected office.
