Attend the Business Assistance Policies and Procedures Workshop January 16

The City is collecting public input on how best to assist private businesses in their expansion efforts. Please attend a public workshop on Wednesday, January 16, 4-6 p.m., CIC Room, City Hall, 300 Laporte Ave., to weigh in on the types of tools the City should use to assist private businesses expand or build in Fort Collins. City Council will be discussing the issue at the January 22 Work Session.

Historically, decisions to offer financial incentives to new or expanding businesses has been made using a variety of factors such as: will the expansion bring more jobs to Fort Collins?, or will the company earn so much more money that it comes back to the community in the form of secondary jobs or increased sales tax?

Be an Economic Health Director for the Afternoon!

The workshop is an opportunity for the community to learn more about what tools the City has to help companies, and how decisions have been made in the past and a proposed framework for future decisions. The workshop will start promptly at 4 p.m. with a business assistance policies and procedures overview, and then participants will be asked to weigh in the various tools and criteria for use. This feedback will be given to City Council and will influence the final policies and procedures framework.
