It’s happening. Mason Street in Downtown is getting new railroad tracks, concrete intersections and will convert to two-way traffic this summer.
Construction starts July 16 and will continue into August. Once the new railroad tracks are installed, around July 29, the City will be adding curb and gutters around them, striping the road and hanging new directional signs for two-way traffic.
During July and August, watch for detour signs, alternative access to businesses and allow for extra time to get around Downtown - College, Howes, Cherry and Laurel will have extra congestion.
Don’t forget about the complete closure on Mason Street July 23-29—no east west travel from south of Cherry to Laurel Streets. Use the free shuttle to get around via Laurel, Howes, Cherry and College. Learn all the details at www.fcgov.com/mason.
