A New Year calls for some reflection on our professional and personal goals. Check out the list of classes and workshops the Larimer Small Business Development Center has planned. Wishing everyone a safe and prosperous 2012!
Make it Official! Wednesday, January 18, 7 – 9am
An early morning two-hour workshop that covers business registration and forms, business entity-type selection and other timely tips every prospective entrepreneur needs before starting a new business venture. Presented by Paul Matonis, EA.
Will My Business Make Money? Tuesday, January 24, 8:30am – 12 noon
This 3.5 hour workshop is your starting point for understanding the financial future of your business. Cash is king, and we’ll look at how to plan for it. The easiest way to make projections is with a spreadsheet. If you want to use the spreadsheet template that comes with the class, you must know Excel. Forecast income and cash flows, gain the necessary insight to run your business, secure funding, and make better decisions. Presented by Pavel Verbsky, CPA.
Business Planning for Success Wednesday, February 1, 8:30am – 12 noon
Participants will learn the basics of developing a comprehensive Business Plan for their business start-up, expansion or financing. They will also receive information about how to access small business assistance from the SBDC and other state and local resources.
Minimize Your Tax Burden on Thursday, February 2, 8:30am – 12noon
Kevin Dryg, CPA, CVA, will present step-by-step guidelines for business record keeping and tax filing (including sales, use tax and payroll taxes) for different start-up entities.
