November sales tax collections are based on retail sales made in October 2010.
Sales tax collections: $5,293,740 an increase of 8.3 percent compared to November 2009. Year-to-date, the first eleven months of 2010 have shown a slight increase in collections. As of November 2010 sales tax collections are up 2.3 percent compared to collections from January-November 2009.
Use tax collections: $791,881, an increase of 38.1 percent compared to November 2009. The use tax collections year-to-date are up 20.2 percent compared to collections for the first eleven months of 2009.
National collections: October sales tax collections (as reported on November 15) increased 7.7 percent compared to Fort Collins’ increase of 8.3 percent.
Building permit collections: increased 83.2 percent in November.
Residential: 17 compared to 11 in November 2009. Residential remodels: 58 permits. In November 2009 there were 54 remodel permits.
Commercial: 0 permits for new construction, 27 for remodeling. In November 2009 1 permit was pulled for new construction, 15 permits for remodeling.
Sales tax licenses: 65 net new licenses were issued.
