Have you seen the progress on the new Rocky Mountain Innovation Initiative (RMI²) building? It’s under construction on Vine Drive, just east of North College Avenue, and is close to completion. The project is made possible by a strong collaborative partnership with the City of Fort Collins so that promising startups and entrepreneurs can rent affordable, professional workspace, while surrounded by other high-potential, high-tech businesses.
Earlier this month members of City Council and the City Manager toured the site and were excited by the building’s development and the tangible benefits it will serve startup companies. The building’s construction is on schedule and under budget. The much-anticipated renewable energy features will be installed in the coming weeks. A solar energy system designed and built by Wirsol, one of RMI²’s client companies, will provide energy to the building. Technology created by Abound Solar, a Colorado State University spinoff company, will also be used on the project. Dohn Construction is the contractor for the innovative building.
RMI² expects to move in the new building during December 2010.
