Old Town Square in Downtown Fort Collins is having its 25th anniversary this year. Founded in 1985, Old Town Square was the vision of a group of residents, elected officials, City staff and investors. Mark your calendars for the special celebration, Friday, May 21.
At 11 a.m. attend the dedication of a commemorative plaque to the founders of Old Town Square, at the stage and fountain area. Come back to Old Town Square later that day, 4-9 p.m., for a community block party with a 1985 theme—celebrity costume contests, live 1980's cover bands, anniversary brew by Coopersmith's, street entertainment, food concessions and much more!
At a time when everyone wanted new buildings, new stores and new streets, Old Town Square was created to honor Fort Collins' roots of commerce and successful Downtown businesses.
The Square Party…like it's 1985 and the morning's dedication ceremony are hosted by Beet Street, the City of Fort Collins, Downtown Business Association and the Downtown Development Authority. Live music at the Square Party is sponsored by the Bohemian Foundation. More information at http://www.ftcollins.com/.
