With relatively flat terrain, 280+ miles of wide bike lanes, and 30+ miles of bike trails that follow both the scenic Poudre River and Spring Creek, bicycling is a fun, healthy, and environmentally friendly way to see all that Fort Collins has to offer.

City Council Adopts the 2008 Bike Plan

In response to City Council's recent adoption of the 2008 Bike Plan on October 7th, City staff has begun development and implementation of one of the bike plan's several recommendations. The Community section of the 2008 bike plan recommends the formation of a local bicycle advisory committee to steer the implementation of the 2008 bike plan's additional recommendations. City of Fort Collins Earns Bicycling Gold from the League of American Bicyclists

Fort Collins solidified its place among the nation's most bicycle friendly communities when the League of American Bicyclists announced Fort Collins achieved Gold Level designation in the Bicycle Friendly Community program.

Bicycling in Downtown Fort Collins

The City of Fort Collins and local stakeholders are working to make bicycling safer for bicyclists and pedestrians in the downtown area. Bicycling on the sidewalks in the downtown area is prohibited. Police officers will ticket bicyclists and skateboarders for riding in the dismount zone. Cost of the ticket is $50.00.

Sign up to adopt your favorite bikeway route. By letting the City know of obstructions and debris along your bikeway, we can do our best to keep your commuter route clean!

Weekly Bike Rides!

The Straight Facts:

9am at Brave New Wheel, 105 E. Myrtle, Every other Sunday (11/22, 12/6, 12/20, etc...)
Sunday Morning Brunch O' Bikes Cruiser Ride. 9 am on 11/22, 12/6, 12/20, and every other Sunday to follow. Bring your slow bike and your appetite. Under ten miles of cruising, followed by breakfast at a local eatery. Meet at Brave New Wheel, 105 E. Myrtle.

Rio Rides:

Sundays at 10:30AM leaving from the Rio Grande, located at 149 West Mountain.  The rides are 2 to 3 hours and are a "no drop" ride usually out east at a medium pace.  The Rio provides hot drinks before each ride.

Full Cycle Bike Shop

  • Saturday Road rides:  Meet at Full Cycle back entrance at 9:30am on Saturdays
  • Wednesday night MTN Bike Rides: 5:30pm call shop for location of rides:
  • Monthly basic bike care classes:  1st Wednesday of each month, call shop for times - 484-1800

Peak to Pub Rides:

Wednesdays at 5:30pm, Beginner to Intermediate-Leaves from North of Jackson's Grill

Lee's Cyclery / Fort Collins Cycling Team:

The ride meets at Lee's Cyclery on Harmony and Lemay on Saturdays at 10:00 am through April and 9:00 am after April. After April - Wednesday nights 5:30pm-Intermediate to Advanced riders.
