"Secret Garden"
by Gunner Anderson

4210 Seneca Street
Completed 1999

This area of Westfield Park features a grove of trees surrounded by natural grassland. Visitors entering the area find themselves in an irrigated grass "oasis" surrounded by trees planted in a circular formation. The artwork magnifies the magical, fun quality of the space, which is creative and imaginative for adults and children.

Artist's Statement
"I believe people's Secret Garden is to be found in their own heart. I imagine this garden to be peaceful, joyous, bigger than life and so real that once visited it will never be forgotten. My hope is that this sculpture in this special place will help inspire a stroll through your own Secret Garden."
