Giant Friends Club

The Giant Friends Club brought kids of all abilities together for an enormously fun time.

We had themes for every week’s adventures, including Super Heroes, Bugs, Where the Wild Things Are and more. Games, crafts, story time and even snacks to match the themes!

The Giant Friends Club members played together and learned about each other at Fort Collins new accessible Inspiration Playground, which also features a splash park, everyone had a great time!

Giant Friends Club Update

The Giant Friends Club had a successful Spring Carnival Event with entertainment by Flip the clown, Mr. Clay the balloon animal man, face painting, carnival games, hot dogs, and prizes! It was an awesome day and we can’t wait for the next Seasons Rodeo Event coming up in the Fall. So pull out your cowboy hats and boots for a giant day of fun with friends at the Rodeo.

~Giant Friends Club Summer Program~
Come and play together at Inspiration Playground this summer. We are currently having a great time with our first 4-week session of the Giant Friends Club and encourage you to sign up for the second session! This club brings kids of all abilities together for fun and friendships. Games, songs, crafts and more will be planned for a gigantic good time!

Shane’s Inspiration Awards Grant

We are pleased to announce that the Adaptive Recreation Opportunities (ARO) program has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Shane’s Inspiration of California to implement a community based “Together, We Are Able” Education program. This is an interactive program that encourages children with typical abilities to move beyond common stereotypes toward people with disabilities through shared play experiences and facilitated interaction.
The mission of Shane’s Inspiration is to create universally accessible playgrounds and programs that integrate children of all abilities socially, physically and emotionally, fostering acceptance, friendship and understanding.
Shane’s Inspiration served as a consulting group with our City park planners for the universally accessible Fort Collins Inspiration Playground.
Together, we can forward the spirit of Inspiration Playground bringing together children of all abilities to play, learn about each other, build friendships and celebrate community.
