Despite Tamara R. Sayre's condition with multiple sclerosis, she shares her "infectious spirit of life." She was an All-Conference runner at Colorado State University. Today, she is a board member with the Fort Collins Running Club, organizing races for others to enjoy. Tamara also coaches Jr. High school track and volleyball, thus inspiring children "to strive to do their best - to run for the pure thrill of it." As an artist and art teacher, she also encourages students to follow their creative vision. Her extra physical and creative energy propels her to be involved in all these activities. Tamara says "carrying the Olympic flame in the Salt Lake 2002 Torch Relay is a great honor. As a torchbearer, I represent our nation as a symbol of the energy that makes that fire burn brightly and renews our vital spirit of life itself."
