Vanessa Luxen leads by example through her extensive involvement with volunteer groups. She strongly believes that "we all need to have an excitement and a passion for something in our lives." Vanessa claims that other people's enthusiasm for life is inspirational to her, thus motivating her to be even more passionate to volunteer and help out. "It is amazing to think that when I am holding the torch, I am the only person in the world that has the torch at that moment. I'm so excited to carry the torch, I can't wait for January 30, 2002!"
