Libby James encourages other people to discover the joy of running. She has been running and competing for many years, and is proud to have run a marathon with her two daughters in 2000. Especially dear to her heart is the fact that regular exercise is part of her family's lives. For the last 12 summers, Libby has led hiking and eyeling trips, working hard to provide a meaningful experience to all participants. Libby is very excited to be part of a long chain of torchbearers, a symbol of how sports can cross "cultural, political, national and social barriers." She also thoughtfully adds that, "If we ever needed to come together as a world, it is now, and I'm proud to be one tiny link in the chain."
