The Olympic Torch is making its way across the nation en route to Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics. On Wednesday, January 30, the torch will arrive in Fort Collins at approximately 8:15 a.m. and travel through our community for the next two hours.
Thirty-two people from our community will have the honor of carrying the torch. These individuals were selected for the inspiration they provide to those around them. The Fort Collins Olympic Torchbearers are a diverse array of individuals, representative of various interests, ages and personalities. The common thread which binds them together is that they are recognized by others for their love, encouragement and hope for humanity.
Everyone is invited to come out and join in on this momentous occasion as individuals from Fort Collins and around the region help carry the Olympic torch to the opening ceremony in Salt Lake City.
