2001 Citizen Survey Results

Methods

This survey used regular mail to distribute questionnaires to 1,800 randomly selected Fort Collins households. The sampling frame included student housing and dormitories at Colorado State University. Adult residents from 501 of these households responded by returning completed questionnaires, representing a response rate of approximately 28 percent. The maximum sampling margin of error for this sample size at the 95 percent confidence level is plus-or-minus 4.4 percentage points. Sample analysis indicated no significant demographic differences between survey respondents and the Fort Collins adult population, meaning that the survey sample of residents seems to be a valid representation of the adult population of Fort Collins
